Day 8 (lock down)

Tuesday 31st March - bike *** - Felixstowe to Falkenham Church – Sunny but chilly:(

While we still can we like to get out daily either for a walk or on ours bikes while we still can, Mags preferred time is a 6.30 walk along the prom when it is really quiet but she still holds her breath when passing others! With sun forecast today we decided to head out on our bikes, so after a morning in the garden doing my back exercises which is sadly really playing up, we took a sandwich and headed out into the country to visit ‘Emily’ at Falkenham Church. We avoided Felixstowe prom by going straight through the Grove and out onto the lanes and footpaths, it was lovely and sunny but there was a keen NE breeze which meant you needed a woolly hat and gloves. We were trying our best to social distance but did bump into several people we knew enroute and had a quick catch at a safe distance of course! And spotted two hares chasing each other in a field:) It’s always nice to sit on the seat at Falkenham Church and admire the view for a few moments but it is strange not seeing any boats on the River Deben on the distance! Several people were out doing the same either on bikes or walking down the lane by the church. We saw a buzzard calling overhead and caught a quick glimpse of a deer disappearing into the hedgerow before following the track down to the Deben. We followed the quiet river path to Felixstowe Ferry and with the tide low saw several waders and then home along the coast path. On reaching home our neighbours had got us two lovely hanging baskets that Homebase were giving away free:)
